Janet Mueller

Janet Mueller is a contemporary painter and sculptor. Her mission is to take complex ideas and express them in simple ways. The almost life-size sculptures she creates are figures made with clay and primitive materials; her large canvasses are bold abstractions often times with matching hanging sculptures.

Originally from Champaign, IL Janet Mueller received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Illinois in 1975. She then wrote and produced award-winning TV commercials and designed graphics for print. She also painted on fabric. After being commissioned by Spiegel Catalog to create signed fine art prints and hand-painted dresses, Mueller decided to become a painter of fine art. Her first solo exhibit was in 1991.

In 1993, Janet Mueller moved to Key West, FL. She has had 12 solo exhibits including a show in Rome, Italy and has participated in many group shows in Miami, New York City, Lexington, KY and Key West.

Since 2008, Janet Mueller has lived in Miami Beach. Currently, she is a resident of the Artisan Lounge, 500 NE 1st Avenue, Miami, FL 33132.
